Targeted Administration
One of the biggest challenges in drug development is delivering the right therapy to the right cells in the right tissue of the body. The combination of molecular engineering of the exosome and the route of administration can have a profound impact on a treatment’s therapeutic index. We have developed methods for delivering our exosome therapeutics to the right body compartment through systemic or regional dosing to ensure enough drug gets to the desired target while limiting potential off-target side effects.
Harnessing the Natural Behavior of Exosomes
Research has shown that exosomes deliver information within and between organs of the body. We have demonstrated the therapeutic potential of exosomes in preclinical models with numerous routes of administration.
Targeted Administration to Address Specific Needs
Targeted dosing results in rapid distribution and pronounced tissue retention within body compartments where exosomes are administered, with dramatic differences in tissue distribution observed with different routes of administration. Combined with Codiak’s proprietary exosome engineering, our compartmental dosing approach has the potential to increase target engagement and reduce the potential for off-target effects of our exosome therapeutic candidates.
